As I have a conflict of interest in this Bill (the third ORDERED clause), I will not either sponsor it, nor vote on it unless requested to do so by the PM, even though I am its author. I still proposed this Bill because I think it is necessary to ensure the proper functioning of this parliament, considering what happened during the debate on the Constitution Act, in which the absence of this kind of legislation left the PM with a real problem.

1st of all, I think this would have to be a Constitutional Amendment.
2nd, Why not just have the Parliament vote on a Deputy PM?

Since I am no longer conflicted, I support this Constitutional Amendment as its author.

I like the intent of this Amendment. I'd like to ask for a bit of opinion/debate around the idea of the Deputy Prime Minister being selected by WA endorsements. If this idea is drek then I support this Amendment as it stands!

Perhaps the senate should elect a DPM?
