SO 2016-10, The Legislative Archive Act 2016

SENATE OF THE PARLIAMENTARY UNION

SENATE ORDER 2016-10

TITLE: The Legislative Archive Act

WHEREAS: the Government and Parliament of this Union should be more open to the membership of this Union;

WHEREAS: as such, the Union needs a place to archive all of the bills proposed to the Parliament and Acts passed by Parliament;

WHEREAS: the Union currently has no place to archive all of the bills proposed to the Parliament and Acts passed by Parliament and their status;

WHEREAS: this bill ensures the creation of such place, be it therefore

ORDERED: that a subsection in the Parliament section of the Forum, called “The Legislative Archive” will be created;

ORDERED: that all of the bills ever proposed to the Parliament along with the status of each proposal will be stored in “The Legislative Archive”, as will all the Acts of Parliament ever passed;

ORDERED: that “The Legislative Archive” will be updated by the Minister of Jurisprudence every time a bill is proposed to the Parliament or the status of a particular bill or Act is changed;

ORDERED: that the Founder of this Union will pin a dispatch on the WFE mirroring "The Legislative Archive". It will only contain the name and the status of each bill or Act.

I do endorse this Bill, but I also want to ask Abdoa to include Acts in this archive, and not just the Bills.

Well there is a difference between a Bill and an Act. A Bill is a proposal, that is meant to become an Act. Once the Bill has completed the legislative process and goes in effect, it then becomes an Act. Therefore, I think we should also include a list of Acts and their status (active/repealed/etc.). The same goes with other official documents, like amendments...
